Astronomy Club Meeting Guidelines

  1. Meetings will be normally be scheduled once or twice each month. Meetings may be cancelled or rescheduled because of weather conditions or other conflicting activities.
  2. At least two adults (normally Mr. Hall and his wife, Vickie) will attend each meeting. Parents and school teachers/administrators are always welcome at all meetings. Other guests and visitors must be approved by Mr. Hall prior to the meeting.
  3. Members are NOT required to attend all meetings.
  4. Start time for meetings will be announced prior to each meeting and will vary according to twilight time.
  5. All members must sign in when arriving at the meeting and sign out when leaving.
  6. Meetings will normally last approximately 1 to 2 hours. Students may arrive and leave at any time, but must sign in and sign out. A cell phone will be available for students who need to call parents to get a ride home.
  7. While at the meeting, students must stay with the group. Students may not wander off away from the other students and supervisors.
  8. No "horseplaying" will be tolerated.
  9. All students will exhibit patience and maturity in awaiting their time to view objects through the telescope or while awaiting proper telescope alignment adjustments. Angry, impatient, or emotional reactions will not be tolerated.
  10. Membership in the Astronomy Club is a privilege, not a right. Failure to comply with all school and club rules will result in removal from the club.
